World Animal Day is observed on 4th October. The aim of this day is to highlight the plight of animals around the globe.

According to the official website, the mission of the global day is “to raise the conditions of animal status in order to improve their welfare standards around the world. It’s celebrated in various ways in different countries, irrespective of nationality, faith, religion, or political ideology. With increased awareness and education we can create a world, where animals are recognized as sentient beings and full regard is paid to their welfare.”
