With the novel coronavirus spreading across India, fear and confusion are also felt in the climate. Indians aren’t sure what steps to take to defend themselves and their families.

In the wake of this pandemic, the Government of India, along with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), has constantly provided the public with all relevant information.

A recent announcement has said that the 14 days will be quarantined for all foreign nationals and even Indians entering the country. This is to ensure the individuals are not unwitting virus carriers.

They have also provided travel advisories that people can stop traveling when appropriate. A recent announcement has said that all foreign nationals, and even Indians entering the country, will be quarantined for the 14 days. It is to ensure that people are not unwitting carriers of viruses.

The government also imposed visa limits and banned the country’s entry of travelers from all other countries. The move effectively bans all travel to India until April 15, which will come into effect from Friday, February 13.
However, there are a few exceptions that the health ministry will still allow into the country like those with diplomatic and long-term job visas for India, and foreigners already inside the country will mostly be unaffected.
MOHFW’s recommendations vary from quarantining yourself at home to using masks in public to dealing with cruise ships that have passengers on board that might be contaminated as seen in the two cases in Japan to California.

For all states and union territories, the MOHFW has released a list of helpline numbers.

Tracking the coronavirus on global scale

If you want to monitor the number of cases of coronavirus worldwide, here are some reliable resources that can help you out.

One of the most reliable maps which are very regularly updated is John Hopkins University’s interactive world map. It gives you the total number of reported cases, the number of deaths and even those who have recovered.

Another guide to looking at is the Worldometer which, like John Hopkins, gives you the number of reported cases worldwide while dividing them into groups such as people with mild conditions and those who are more severe. The platform also provides you with information on the number of people rescued and the total number of COVD-19 deaths caused.
